The Changbai Mountain

The Changbai Mountain is a mountain range that locates in the Northeast Asia. Changbai Mountain is the familiar name that people calls when we call this mountain range. However, the people in China would call this mountain as “Chang Bai Shan”, “Baekdu Mountain” or the “Paektu Mountain”. At the meantime, the people in Korea has another name for the Changbai Mountain, for example : the Jangbaek/Ohnan Mountain.

The mountain is crossing the border of China ( under city Heilongjiang,  Jilin and Liaoning) and North Korea in between 41°41′ to 42°51’N; 127°43′ to 128°16’E.

Most of the mountains in the Changbai Mountain range have at least elevation of 2000ft. However, the Paektu Mountain that’s under the Changbai Mountain range has the highest peak compared to any mountain in this mountain range and in the region in Korea and Northeast Asia. The elevation of the Paektu Mountain was about 9,003 feet (2,750meters).
