The history of Changbai Mountain in China.

The Changbai Mountian was first being discovered in the Liao Dynasty (907-1125). We know that words that left by the ancient in the Classic of Mountains and Sea. At that time the mountain was named Buxian Shan (不咸山), and  Shanshan Daling (單單大嶺). Through out the generation, the mountian was called Taibai Shan (太白山) during the Tang dynasty. Moving on to the Qing dynasty, the Changbai mountain finally unified in names.

The Changbai Mountain was being explored again in the 17th century by the Aisin Gioro family. The Aisin Gioro family is an imperial family in China during the Qing dynasty.

They have explored the Changbai Mountain, and they have given the name of this mountain range as Chang Bai Shan. Chang Bai Shan in Chinese are (長白山脈)and it means of “Perpetually White Mountain Region”. And Chang Bai Shan became the offical name of Changbai Mountain in China afterward.

On the other hand…..

The Korean discovered the Changbai Mountain way before the Chinese does. They have discovered in the 13th century, under the history record. The Korean have named the Changbai Mountain as (태백산, 太白山). The pronunication of 태백산 is Taebaeksan. It has the meaning of ‘great-white mountain’.
